Cricket Hospitality Introduction
Although we are lucky enough to host cricket hospitality played all year round, in the UK its typically played between the months of May and September. We have been blessed with the game of cricket from… and since its inception it has taken on a whole host of changes. From Timeless Tests to T20 cricket has continued to develop to quench the thirst of its global audience.
A game developed by the English is largely played in the areas that were within its colonies, however with the introduction of T20 other countries have taken to the game.
Throughout the International Summer cricket is predominately played across three formats.
Test Cricket
Played across 5 days, this 2 innings per side format is the pinnacle of the game. Players strive to reach the level required to compete in this ultimate test. Focus concentration and patience are the name of the game allowing for a match to twist and turn to its completion. Although a test match can not be won in a day it can certainly be lost.
Outcomes include, wins, loses, and draws are Hospitality lends itself nicely to Test cricket and will span the days play. Hospitality will include a cooked breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. Enjoy an open bar throughout and insights from cricket legends.
One Day International Cricket
As its name would suggest this format is played across 1 day where each team have a total of 50 overs. The team which bats first sets the largest total possible and the team batting second will look to chase down the total. This is one of the most exciting formats of cricket with only a win or lose available. Hospitality run parallel to the match as it does with test cricket however depending on when the game kicks off breakfast may be a lunch.
T20 Cricket
The shortest format but also by far the most exciting T20 cricket is not stop action. Teams only have 20 overs to play however batsmen still manage scores of 200+. Therefore, this game is 6s & 4s galore!
With music and entertainment all around the ground this style of cricket is for the younger generation or those who may not have the time to watch 5 days nonstop. As this game was developed to fill the afterwork slot 6 – 9 the hospitality offering is condensed as well. An open bar and dinner will typically be available to enjoy while the match is taking place. Do not take your eyes of the action!
