The Emirates Stadium is the home of North London football team Arsenal FC.
The Gunners are one of the most successful teams in British football history and the faithful fans have watched superstars in the red and white kit grace the pitch at Highbury.
Constructed and opened in 2006, The Emirates Stadium was built to replace Highbury and the capacity increased to over 60,000. The stadium was built to capitalise on the demand for tickets and corporate hospitality, with a rejuvenated and modern design to the ground.
The stadium was built just next to Arsenal’s previous ground Highbury so the local fans didn’t have to travel any differently than before.
The Emirates Stadium currently holds just over 40,000, having been the home of Chelsea FC since their formation in 1905. The venue is planning to expand to a 60,000 all seater to compete with London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham, who have both built new stadiums in the last twenty years.
Around the stadium you can see 32 legends of the club throughout the years on eight different murals and it’s a spectacular sight for all fans.
The Emirates Stadium also hosts concerts and other major sporting occasions.
