Lions Tour 2021
The British and Irish Lions will be touring South Africa in 2021. The Lions’ pride will be at stake (no pun intended), because coming out on top this time would mark the first time since the 1950s that they have toured all three nations without conceding a series. However, the Springboks are never an easy prospect, and they will not give up any ground without a fight.
The last time the two teams met in 2009 was a dramatic clash where passions ran high, but all the players will certainly want to uphold their team’s and the sport’s reputation for sportsmanship. From 2021 all British and Irish Lions tours will be reduced from 10 matches to eight. The Lions traditionally play Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and while its not possible to stage a full tour of south America due to a lack of clubs, Argentina could soon feature in the fixture schedule.
