Product Description

Scotland v France was last competed in August 2019 as part of the Rugby World Cup warm up fixtures. A much-changed Scotland side put in a morale-boosting gritty performance to beat France 17-14 at BT Murrayfield. Tries from Sean Maitland and Chris Harris, plus a penalty from Greig Laidlaw, edged the Dark Blues to victory over a French side that had beaten them heavily last weekend. Gregor Townsend’s side were still disjointed at times and made some basic errors but they found a way to win – which was a huge confidence boost ahead of their trip to Tbilisi to take on a Georgian team desperate to cause an upset but who were resoundingly beaten 10-44.

Scotland v France, the Scots lost 3-32 in the Allianz Rivier, Nice the previous week in front of a crowd of 25,000, meaning Scotland won 3 of their four summer warm-up matches in preparation for the Rugby World Cup 2019.

Unfortunately Scotland were then knocked out of the Rugby World Cup 2019 Pool A after losing to Ireland and host nation Japan during the pool stages.

Scotland will play two home matches (Scotland v England and Scotland v France) and three away matches (vs Ireland,  Italy and Wales) in the 2020 Six Nations Championship. BT Murrayfield Stadium, or more popularly known as Murrayfield, is located in the west end of Edinburgh, and named after the location. It’s all-seater capacity is 67,144 making it the largest stadium in Scotland and the 5th largest in the UK. Home to the Scottish Rugby Union, it’s primarily used as a venue for rugby union and hosts most of Scotland’s home test matches, the Scottish Hydro Electric Cup as well as Pro 14 and European Rugby Champions Cup matches. It has also in the past hosted American football, rugby league and association football matches and music concerts.
