The stadium opened in 2019 and due to the pandemic, hasn’t hosted as many international events as it would have been expecting. However the stadium is recognised as a state-of-the-art venue and will be used for major sporting occasions for many years to come, as well as hosting Spurs during the football season.

Currently the stadium has confirmed two NFL matches that will be going ahead in the Autumn of 2021. The Miami Dolphins will play the Jacksonville Jaguars, whilst the New York Jets will play the Atlanta Hawks on the week before

Major Boxing in Britain – Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitscho

Firstly a deserved reference to some other major boxing events at Wembley Stadium, including Henry Cooper v Muhammed Ali where Ali claimed victory in the 5th round, an impressive triumph early on in his professional career. The rematch of Carl Froch v George Groves in 2014 was an outstanding bout that saw Froch back up his controversial points win 6 months ago with a clinical 8th round knockout in another closely fought battle.

But Joshua v Klitscho in 2017 had absolutely everything. 90,000 fans, a post-war attendance record were able to witness the undefeated Joshua try and take the crown of the heavyweight king Klitscho. Both men felt the canvas and had spells in the fight of desperation to stay upright, but in the end, the youthful Joshua had the energy to pummel Klitscho with an 11th round upper cut that will be remembered forever. Let’s hope Joshua and Tyson Fury fight at Wembley! You can watch it live with us or any other incredible boxing match ups.
