England v Denmark, to be played at Wembley on 12th October is the second leg in their UEFA Nations League Group A fixture.
England v Denmark will be the 20th meeting between the two sides. The most recent of those games was a 1-0 win at Wembley in March 2014, when a late goal from Daniel Sturridge was enough to seal victory for Roy Hodgson’s side as they began preparations for that year’s World Cup in Brazil. Sturridge was one of five Liverpool players named in Hodgson’s starting line-up and the striker carried his rich vein of club form on to the international scene, heading in Adam Lallana’s cross for his 12th goal in as many games to give England a first win in three matches.
Age Hareide’s current side secured their own place at EURO 2020 with a 1-1 draw against Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Monday evening, to finish second in Group D (after failing to qualify for the 2014 World Cup and getting to the round of 16 in 2018).
The two sides should have met on Tues 31st March 2020, however due to the global coronavirus pandemic this match was postponed.
