Event History

England v India 2021 Test – The second match of this test series will be held at Lords and India led by the lively Virat Kohli will provide England their toughest challenge of the summer. You don’t have to look too far back in history to remember one of the great clashes between the two, in the 2018 series when India was last on UK shores. Predominantly remembered as Sir Alistair Cooks’s final series for England. Bringing the curtain down on not only one of the greatest England careers but also one of the greatest of all time. Cook walked off after scoring 147 in his final innings will always be a special memory to think back on.

England showed their class throughout the series with their masterful control of the Duke’s ball in swing-friendly conditions. James Anderson became the most prolific fast bowler ever, surpassing Australia’s Glen McGrath. To beat India in a Test series is never easy therefore to comprehensively win the series 4 – 1 was a testament to the level of cricket being played by the England team.

World Test Championship

England v India 2021 Test series will be a hard-to-call. One could argue that both teams are playing their best cricket in the shorter formats. England is no1 in the world in the One Day International format and currently sit second in T20 rankings. Likewise, India is in second place in the ODI rankings and sits third in the T20 lists. The test series will be third-place India vs fourth-place England. In addition, the series is also set in the wider picture of the World Test Championship.
